Node.js 20 "Iron" reached the end of its support period on 30 April 2026. From now on, flaws found in it will not get official fixes.
What this means
Your application keeps running and nothing breaks overnight. But the risk grows with every new security advisory: the flaw becomes public and no fix arrives. Cloud platforms and hosting services are phasing out old versions too, and new releases of npm packages are gradually dropping Node.js 20 support.
Where to move
The supported long-term (LTS) versions right now are Node.js 22 and 24. The move usually doesn't need big changes, but updating dependencies and running your tests matters. Run the project on the new version in a test environment first, check the warnings, then switch production.
